Telemetry Nurse Director

We are seeking a Telemetry Nurse Director for our community hospital in San Antonio, TX.

The Telemetry Nurse Director is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and managing resources for the Telemetry Unit at Northeast Baptist Hospital. These responsibilities include: budget responsibility; efficient/effective resource utilization; recruitment and effective/efficient management of assigned staff; achieving quality outcomes; performance improvement; monitoring of quality and quantity of services; maintaining positive working relationships with staff and System departments and managers, and purchasing and maintaining equipment. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

  • MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in Nursing
  • PREFERRED EDUCATION: Master Degree in Nursing, Business or Related Field
  • MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 5 years experience in discipline or specialty including Telemetry.
  • PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years progressively responsible management experience including Telemetry Unit leadership
  • REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse
  • PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Specialty or Administration certification desired.
  • REQUIRED COURSES/COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): BLS–Obtained through approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network.

Additional details about the position:

It will oversee a 30 bed Telemetry unit with a average daily census of 28-30 so it is a busy unit that is full most of the time.  It has 24 hour Centralized Monitoring. The position will oversee approximately 60 FTE. Nurse to patient ratio is 6:1 with free Charges.

There is no Manager reporting to the position. There is a free Charge Nurse overseeing each shift and a shared a clerical coordinator. It will have a split reporting relationship with the CNO and the Administative Director Intermediate Services.

We are a 239 bed Hospital that has been providing
State-of-the-Art Acute Care since 1970.

We are the first San Antonio hospital to provide Stereotaxis robotic technology to treat irregular heartbeats, a Wound Healing Center with a high success rate and state-of-the-art private hyperbaric chambers

POSITION SUMMARY:

In collaboration with VP Chief Operating Officer/Nursing Executive, strategically plans, organizes, directs and controls the development of our hospital Health’s goals and objectives related to Patient Care Services policies, programs and other related issues. Job Summary
